The Sandhills Center for Continuing Education

Growing as a Christian is a responsibility, not an option.  Wanting to grow should be an ongoing desire and not an occasional interest.  A multitude of possibilities is now available through distance learning opportunities.  We invite you to be a part of the journey of Christian growth through the Sandhills Center for Continuing Education.

You may be a layperson wanting to gain insights into the biblical message or strengthen a foundation in Baptist history and doctrine.  You might be a minister who is seeking an opportunity to be involved in continuing education in order to sharpen your skills.  You may even be starting on or be in the midst of the pursuit of a theological degree or diploma.

The Sandhills Center for Continuing Education is a ministry of the Sandhills Baptist Association.  It exists for the following purpose: To provide channels by which those seeking to improve their skills in Bible knowledge, church history, and Christian ministry may do so through fully accredited programs of study.

This Center will provide information that will allow potential students to link with institutions that offer distance learning opportunities.  The number of institutions to be listed will increase as they are evaluated for inclusion.  It is to be understood that because a complete listing is impossible, many schools with whom students may wish to be involved will not be included.  Assistance in linking with those institutions will be provided as need arises.

The Center will seek to provide all contact information allowing the prospective student to contact the school of choice to inquire about course offerings, prerequisites, cost, and distance learning options.  Contact information may include web site link, email address, mailing address, and phone numbers.  Because information changes, it is recommended that a prospective student be prepared to contact the school of choice in multiple ways.

Distance learning may take various forms.  Classroom settings can include a satellite campus or a local facility.  In-home methods include real time internet classes, posted internet lessons, cd-based materials, or books with written lesson guides to be used at the student’s convenience.

Some institutions offer classes for undergraduate and graduate degree credit.  More common are classes offered that earn certificate or continuing education credit.  Cost and class requirements will vary with type of credit being sought.

The Sandhills Center for Continuing Education does not grant or confer diplomas or degrees.  The Center exists to encourage ongoing study that will allow the servants of the Lord to increase in their ability to work effectively in service for the Kingdom of God.  It is hoped, however, that students using this site will contact the Center and allow us to know of their progress and give us the privilege of noting their accomplishments through appropriate recognition.
