ASSOCIATIONAL MISSIONS TRIP GRANT GUIDELINES

1.     Available to any member of a Sandhills Baptist Association church.

2.     Amount is equal to $750 or one half the cost of the trip, whichever is less.

3.     May be used for any mission trip outside of North Carolina conducted in partnership with Southern Baptist missionaries or in conjunction with North Carolina Baptist Men mission partnerships. 

4.     Applicant must be at least 16 years old.

5.     This must be the applicant’s first out-of-state mission trip as a member of a Sandhills Baptist Association church.

6.     Only one grant may be awarded to any one church in a calendar year.

7.     All applications will be considered together at the appropriate time, and the individuals will be chosen to receive the grants based upon a consensus decision by the Missions Megateam.

8.     Each application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s home church pastor or the pastor of the church sponsoring the mission trip.

9.     Oral presentations by grant recipients will be given on either Monday or Tuesday of the annual meeting in October of the associational year in which they made their trip. 

10.   Applications for mission grants may be sent to the Associational Resource Center by September 1 in the year preceding the associational year in which  the grants will be used or by March 1 of the current year in which the grant is to be used. 

11.   The Missions Megateam will select the recipients for the first two mission grants by November 1 of the current year from those who submitted applications before the September 1 deadline. The Team will select the recipients for the remaining two grants by May 1 of the following year from all those who submitted applications before the March 1 deadline.
